Job Summary
Partner with the Store Manager in daily store operations, assuming full responsibility for all functions in their absence. Supervise employees on performance, coaching, and training while ensuring compliance with published directives and ARC merchandising standards. Manage shift changes, coordinate morning and weekly team meetings, and process paperwork for time and attendance. Safeguard cash by maintaining adequate change, securing registers, and banking receipts per policy. Ensure customer and donor needs are met, resolve complaints efficiently, and implement loss prevention measures. Maintain safety protocols, report hazards, and attend monthly store meetings. May transfer between stores as directed by Command Retail Directors.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one year of previous retail experience
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of insurance
- Access to a motor vehicle
- Ability to pass a background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks, and miscellaneous carts
- Ability to operate a telephone
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers, and donors
- Ability to operate POS/Cash Register
- Ability to schedule and supervise store employees
