Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager role supporting the Store Manager in achieving sales targets, profitability, and brand standards within a cannabis retail environment. Responsibilities include leading and motivating sales staff, delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining product knowledge, coordinating staffing schedules, assisting with HR tasks, handling POS and cash reconciliation, maintaining product libraries and merchandise, driving brand awareness and community relationships, ensuring store compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and supporting store audits and health & safety programs. Requires strong leadership, team collaboration, problem-solving, retail operations experience, and a proven ability to develop and motivate a sales team; Cannabis industry experience and CannSell certification are a plus, with a must-pass criminal background check and rotating shifts (days/evenings/weekends/holidays).
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years work experience in the retail or related service industry
- Minimum 1 year work in a leadership capacity
- Minimum 1 year work in a Unionized environment
- High School diploma and/or post-secondary education in Business Accounting courses or equivalent will be considered an asset
