Job Summary
As an Assistant Store Manager, the role involves delivering outstanding service through effective team management and guest engagement. Responsibilities include managing associates, overseeing store administration, ensuring excellent guest services, operating the point of sale system proficiently, maintaining merchandise and store cleanliness, ensuring security protocols are upheld, and completing reporting requirements accurately. The ideal candidate must possess strong communication skills in English, demonstrate ability to operate store equipment, handle transactions accurately, and be physically capable of performing store duties.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to speak, hear and understand spoken English well enough to communicate effectively with customers
- Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment, including POS terminal and gas console
- Ability to understand operating instructions for store equipment
- Ability to handle coins, currency, and credit transactions accurately
- Ability to recognize numbers, count, and do arithmetic well enough to complete required records
- Ability to move merchandise from storage to shelves/displays/freezers
- Ability to clean counters and other surfaces
- Ability to tolerate exposure to extreme temperatures
- Ability to raise at least 10 pounds from floor level to a height of 5 feet
- Ability to place an 8" x 10" x 10" package weighing 21 pounds into a dip cabinet
Additional Requirements
- Must be legally qualified under applicable state laws to conduct all sales transactions including alcohol and tobacco sales
