Job Summary
The Assistant Manager is responsible for delivering outstanding guest service, managing store associates, and overseeing store operations during shifts. Key responsibilities include ensuring compliance with laws and company policies, managing guest services, controlling cash registers, maintaining store conditions, and carrying out store administrative tasks. Applicants must be able to communicate effectively in English, operate store equipment, handle various forms of payment, and maintain awareness of store security. The ability to work under varying temperature conditions and manage physical demands is also required.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to speak, hear and understand spoken English effectively
- Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment
- Ability to understand operating instructions for store equipment
- Ability to handle coins, currency, checks, credit transactions, coupons and food stamps
- Ability to recognize numbers, count and do arithmetic
- Ability to move merchandise from storage to shelves/displays/freezers/milk box
- Ability to clean counters and other surfaces
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as –30 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as +33 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to raise at least 10 pounds from floor level to a height of 5 feet
- Ability to place an 8” x 10” x 10” package weighing 21 pounds into a dip cabinet
