Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for delivering outstanding service by following the five phases of The Hi Five Guest Experience and overseeing store operations during shifts. Key responsibilities include managing associates, ensuring compliance with laws and company policies, maintaining store conditions, and providing top-tier guest services. Essential functions involve training staff, administering store tasks, preparing food items, managing point of sale operations, stocking merchandise, ensuring security, and maintaining cleanliness. The role requires effective communication, equipment operation, cash handling skills, and physical capabilities such as lifting and temperature tolerance.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to speak, hear and understand spoken English
- Ability to see well enough to operate store equipment
- Ability to understand operating instructions for store equipment
- Ability to handle coins, currency, checks, credit transactions, coupons and food stamps
- Ability to recognize numbers, count and do arithmetic
- Ability to move merchandise from storage to shelves/displays/freezers/milk box
- Ability to clean counters and other surfaces
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as –30 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to tolerate exposure to temperatures as low as +33 degrees Fahrenheit
- Ability to raise at least 10 pounds from floor level to a height of 5 feet
- Ability to place an 8” x 10” x 10” package weighing 21 pounds into a dip cabinet
