Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager responsible for leadings sales- and service-driven store operations in a Staples location. Drive customer engagement, coach a high-performing team, deliver consultative selling, manage daily merchandising opportunities, and achieve sales and profit goals. Must have 2+ years of retail sales management, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include developing the team through coaching and training, guiding operations, ensuring store culture aligns with Staples values, and acting as Floor Leader while supporting GM. Staples explicitly states no visa sponsorship for this position.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years managing a sales team in a retail or services industry
- Experience managing and coaching a team in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment
- Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs
- Strong communication, organization, planning and adaptive to changing business priorities
- Review results against business goals and strategies and deliver plans for growth and improvement
- Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational and cooperative manner
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to lift/move materials in the 10 - 50 pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously
