Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary
Lead sales, services, and customer engagement by establishing relationships that build loyalty and grow the business. Guide your team in being positive, inclusive, and collaborative while ensuring the store is ready for business and embodying Staples values. Develop a high-performing team focused on consultative selling and driving conversions through coaching, training, and role playing. Attain sales and services goals, profit margins, and execution of store operations by establishing business cadence for sales readiness and providing daily direction for merchandising opportunities. Share responsibility for total store operations, cost control, and delegating tasks in partnership with the GM. Full-time hours with weekly pay, generous PTO, and a career development program. Bonus plan eligible. Compensation based on qualifications and experience.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years managing a sales team in a retail or services industry
- Experience managing and coaching a team in a customer-centric, solutions-based environment
- Must be able to engage and speak to customers and understand their needs
- Strong communication, organization, planning and adaptive to changing business priorities
- Ability to act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information
- Ability to work cooperatively in a high paced and sometimes stressful environment
- Ability to lift/move materials in the 10 - 50 pound range, climb ladders, stand and walk continuously
Desired Qualifications
- Experience using financial metrics to track sales progress to drive profitable sales and margins
- Ability to network and engage with the community
