Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary
Direct all business processes at the assigned store, driving sales growth and managing P&L by overseeing inventory, labor, and expenses to meet targets. Lead a team of approximately ten people, including Department Managers and Receivers, by developing leadership, providing constructive feedback, and making recommendations on hiring, promotion, and disciplinary actions. Maintain compliance with safety, food safety, and legal standards through regular audits, emergency resolution, and strict adherence to company programs. Execute store experience initiatives by managing fresh item conditions, optimizing top items in stock, and ensuring accurate pricing and labeling across all departments.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 21 years of age
- 1-3 years of retail experience
- Have demonstrated success leading non-perishable and perishable department operations
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Be proficient in bookkeeping/accounting
- Be proficient in time and attendance software
- Be proficient in human resources software
- Be flexible to work a schedule that changes based on business needs, including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Have and maintain Food Safety certification
- Able to lift 60 pounds between 15 inches and 70 inches above the ground
- Able to lift heavier items occasionally
- Able to push and pull racks and U-boats of merchandise
- Push and pull force required ranges from 80 pounds to 100 pounds
- Able to stand on hard surfaces continuously
- Able to walk up to 2 miles
- Able to reach vertically to access upper levels
- Able to transfer items horizontally
- Able to wear PPE consistent with task assignment including non-slip closed-toe shoes, long pants, and gloves

- A degree in business management, marketing, retailing, communications, advertising, or related field
