Job Summary
Lead all Store operations in the absence of the Store Manager, supervising non-exempt Associates and ensuring Company standards are consistently met. Manage payroll administration, including daily punch edits and Sunday payroll transmission, while controlling expenditures to stay within budget. Oversee merchandise processing, markdowns, and inventory execution, ensuring proper sizing, recovery, and organization according to guidelines. Direct recruiting, hiring, and training of Associates, while facilitating safety meetings and enforcing emergency operating procedures. Maintain a clean, secure environment by monitoring housekeeping, loss prevention awareness, and compliance with all state and federal regulations. Treat customers and associates with respect, representing the Ross brand through professional appearance and courteous service. Work evenings and weekends to support business objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Two or more years of Store or Assistant Store Manager experience in a retail environment
- Must demonstrate the ability to supervise, motivate and communicate positively to Store Associates at all levels
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize those tasks, give direction and follow through to completion
- Ability to set priorities and exercise independent judgment
- Maintain high-quality Customer service
- Fluency in English
- Ability to work evenings and weekends
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments
- Ability to use all Store equipment, including PDTs, registers, and PC as required
- Ability to spend up to 100% of working time standing, walking, and moving around the Store
- Ability to regularly bend at the waist, squat, kneel, climb, carry, reach, and stoop
- Ability to occasionally push, pull and lift more than 25 lbs
- Ability to use janitorial equipment, rolling racks, ladders, and other assigned supplies
