Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager role responsible for Customer Service excellence and store profitability. Partners with Store Manager to train and develop staff, implement customer-service standards, maintain product knowledge, monitor store performance and expenses, manage inventories and shrinkage, and ensure merchandising and signing standards. Drives local marketing events and community engagement to increase store traffic and sales; maintains attendance and enforces company policies. Requires bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 1–3 years retail sales experience, strong MS Office skills, excellent communication, knowledge of woodworking supplies, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and lead a team.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration or related field desirable
- 1 to 3 years previous retail sales experience, preferably with a similar product line
- MS Office skills, to include Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of woodworking supplies and hand/power woodworking tools a plus
- Ability to motivate subordinates for top performance
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- personally lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and participate in team lifting
