Job Summary
Assist the Store Manager in overall management of store operations, including overseeing inventory, merchandise replenishment, cycle counts, and shipment processing. Coach and lead Team Members to provide an exceptional guest experience, meet sales targets, and achieve business results. Share product knowledge to promote pet health and organize special store events and promotions. Perform front-end duties such as handling the cash register, bagging, and preparing displays while positively interacting with pet parents via in-person, email, text, and phone. Work a flexible schedule including evening and weekend shifts, standing for eight hours daily and lifting 50 pounds regularly.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Passion for extraordinary customer service and the well-being of pets
- Minimum 1 year of professional retail sales experience
- Minimum 1 year of professional managerial experience
- Willingness to be educated about the products and services offered
- Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets
- Excellent communication skills-both verbal and written
- Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business, which will require evening and weekend shifts
- Time management and organizational skills
- Position requires a person to be both indoors and outdoors (to assist with customer carry out)
- Must be able to stand 8 hours per day with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must be comfortable working with a wide variety of animals including small and large dogs
- Must be able to work around pet hair and dander
