Job Summary
Direct all business processes at the assigned store, driving sales and efficiency while overseeing operations in the absence of the Store Manager. Lead a team of approximately ten people, including Department Managers and Receivers, by modeling leadership behaviors, providing constructive feedback, and coaching leaders on performance and development. Manage inventory, labor, and expenses to meet P&L targets, while ensuring compliance with safety, food safety, and sanitation standards through regular audits. Execute sales promotions and merchandising standards, including maintaining top item conditions, managing code dates, and verifying product freshness and pricing accuracy. Address emergencies, crises, and equipment failures with urgency, and exercise independent judgment in supervising staff and making recommendations on hiring, promotion, and disciplinary actions.
Required Qualifications
- Be at least 21 years of age
- 1-3 years of retail experience
- Have demonstrated success leading non-perishable and perishable department operations
- Have and maintain Food Safety certification
- Able to lift 60 pounds between 15 inches and 70 inches above the ground
- Pushing and pulling racks and U-boats of merchandise is common throughout a typical day
- Push and pull force required ranges from 80 pounds to 100 pounds
- Stand on hard surfaces continuously
- Walk up to 2 miles
- Reach vertically to access upper levels
- Transfer items horizontally
- Wear PPE consistent with the task assignment
- Tools and equipment used include, but are not limited to, phone, computer, mouse, keyboard, ovens, freezers, meat and cheese cutters, grinders, scales, mixers, box cutters, scanners, cash register, carts, and pallet jacks
