Job Summary
Assistant Manager supports and consults the Store Manager in daily store operations, including selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling. They supervise in the Store Manager’s absence, assist in recruiting/training/evaluating personnel, monitor inventory and customer trends, ensure profitability, and uphold company policies and standards while delivering outstanding customer service. The role requires knowledge of multiple product areas, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to lead and motivate staff in a fast-paced retail environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel
- 1-3 years of customer service experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits
- Self-starter with initiative
- Strong attention to detail and multitasking
- Team-player with a passion for outstanding customer service and selling merchandise
