Job Summary
Assistant Manager assists and consults with the Store Manager on overall store operations and administrative duties, including developing action plans for departmental and store responsibilities, merchandising, restocking, ordering, and scheduling. Acts as supervisor in the Store Manager’s absence and provides guidance to employees and customers across all departments. Promotes services and merchandise, ensures policy compliance, protects assets and financial information, and delivers extraordinary customer service as outlined in the company manuals. Responsible for inventory awareness, sales performance, and profitability, while maintaining quality customer service and upholding store policies. Requires experience in retail, strong interpersonal/communication skills, ability to lead a team, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel
- 1-3 years of customer service experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits
- Self-starter with initiative to take on important tasks without being asked
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Team-player, passionate about outstanding customer service and selling merchandise
