Job Summary
The Assistant Manager supports the Store Manager in overall store operations and administration, including determining methods to achieve store goals. Responsibilities include supervising in the Store Manager’s absence, assisting in selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling; training and evaluating personnel; guiding staff in all departments with inventory awareness and expenses to ensure profitability; delivering extraordinary customer service; promoting merchandise and services; upholding company policies and procedures; and protecting assets while maintaining internal controls. The role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and a proactive, team-oriented approach to achieve department and store goals.
Required Qualifications
- Experience working in a retail environment, preferably in footwear and athletic apparel
- 1-3 years of customer service experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to assist in managing a team and keep up with overall goals and profits
- Self-starter with initiative
- Attention to detail and multi-tasking ability
