Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at Goodwill of Colorado leads daily retail store operations, partnering with the Store Manager to achieve financial goals, supervise staff, develop teams, manage donations and merchandising, ensure safety and compliance with OSHA/CARF, utilize POS systems, train and develop employees, and drive store performance and community impact. The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, accountability for profitability, budgeting and financial reporting, and the ability to handle multiple departments within a high-visibility environment.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
- At least 2 years supervising Retail Operations (or similar) with accountability for business success
- Ability to operate and manage multiple departments within a retail store
- Proficiency with office software (Word, Excel) and web-based applications (e.g., UKG)
- Experience leading teams of 20–30 people and achieving financial goals
- Strong customer service, financial, and staff development skills
- Ability to train, develop, and recognize talent and leadership
- Ability to manage safety and OSHA/CARF standards
- Knowledge of POS systems and merchandising, pricing, and loss prevention
- Ability to move into multiple store locations within the region as needed
- On-call ability for alarm notifications after hours
- Must be able to obtain forklift and/or walkie stacker certification as needed
- Must be able to drive and have valid Colorado driver license; driving may be required
- Excellent communication skills; ability to work with diverse teams and communities
