Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary
As a senior member of the store leadership team at Farm Boy, you will shape the customer experience and help translate business strategies into actionable leadership. You’ll partner with the Store Manager to drive performance, cultivate a culture of trust, inclusion, and performance, coach and develop the team, ensure health and safety and food safety program alignment, manage inventory, scheduling, payroll, and front-end controls, uphold store standards and policies, support community engagement, and take on additional responsibilities to contribute to store success.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in business
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible retail management experience (preferably within the perishable food sector) or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Completion of Public Health Food Handler certification, Smart Serve, and Level A First Aid & Basic CPR, or a commitment to obtain all required certifications within six months of hire
- Strong working knowledge of the retail environment, food products, and high standards for quality and freshness
- Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage changing priorities while maintaining strong performance results
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated success in team engagement and development
- Comfort with manual and automated systems and various computer software
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform tasks in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
