Job Summary
The Assistant Store Manager supports the daily operations across one or more self-storage locations under the guidance of the District Manager and Store Manager. Responsibilities include building and maintaining customer relationships through in-person and phone interactions, delivering a structured sales process to maximize unit rentals, unit insurance, and moving supplies, and ensuring high cleanliness standards through ongoing site maintenance. Daily tasks include cash handling, balance receipts, addressing delinquent payments, processing customer payments, and completing daily bank deposits. The role emphasizes delivering excellent customer service, maintaining safety and security (site inspections, lock checks), and upholding company culture while collaborating with Extra Space Storage teams. The ideal candidate has at least one year of customer-facing experience, a valid driver’s license with reliable vehicle access, strong communication skills, and a commitment to operational excellence; college education is a plus. Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of customer-facing work experience
- Current valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle; except in New York City and Brooklyn
- High School diploma or GED
