Job Summary
Support the store manager in managing sales, operations, asset protection, and human resources to ensure a great customer experience and maximum profitability. Prepare weekly schedules for floor coverage, review payroll documentation, and perform all financial activities including cash handling, reporting, and price changes. Supervise associates on sales, inventory receipt, and customer service; train staff on visual merchandising and loss prevention policies. Maintain a visually appealing store through housekeeping and merchandising, while monitoring associate productivity and delivering coaching based on key performance indicators. Assist in recruiting, hiring, and development of store associates, providing feedback for performance appraisals. This position requires the ability to travel throughout the district, work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, and handle physical tasks such as lifting 50 pounds. Candidates must demonstrate Chico's FAS values of customer focus, trust, engagement, and high performance.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Minimum 3 years prior retail or sales management experience preferred
- Excellent communication, verbal and written skills
- Able to travel to stores throughout the district
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of administrative aspects of store operations
- Communicate with customers, standing and maneuvering on sales floor and stockroom, operate register, lift and carry 50 pounds, hand/fold merchandise, climbing, reaching, pushing/pulling
- Regular attendance is essential to this position in order to ensure adequate coverage to meet company objectives
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays is required
