Job Summary
Support Store Operations by managing day-to-day activities including opening/closing, inventory control, and staff scheduling. Drive sales through excellent customer service, assist with promotions, and ensure products are displayed and priced correctly. Monitor stock levels, conduct counts, oversee ordering to minimize shrinkage, and track sales performance for analysis. Supervise and motivate employees, assist with recruitment and training, and enforce health and safety standards and HACCP protocols. Collaborate with the Store Manager on supplier relationships, franchise guidelines, and order management while resolving customer complaints professionally.
Required Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12 Mandatory
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a retail supervisory or assistant management role
- Strong understanding of retail operations
- Strong understanding of food products
- Strong understanding of wholesale distribution processes
- Demonstrated ability to assist in leading a team
- Strong communication skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Interpersonal skills
- Passion for customer service
- Awareness of health and safety regulations in the food retail environment
- Awareness of meat handling regulations
- Competence in point-of-sale systems
- Competence in stock management software
- Competence in Microsoft Office
Desired Qualifications
- A diploma or certificate in Retail Management, Business, or a related field
- Experience within the butchery sector
- Experience within the wholesale sector
- Experience within the food distribution sectors
- Familiarity with franchise operations
