Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary
Drive store revenue by supervising the sales team to meet unit, margin, and profitability goals, with a special emphasis on growing trailer and truck bed sales. Foster an environment of accountability for customer service by personally demonstrating focus, resolving problems, and building brand loyalty. Control expenses through strict adherence to inventory control, supply purchasing, and labor policies while maintaining a safe, secure store environment. Monitor safety equipment maintenance, lead safety training, and ensure compliance for all employees. Maintain ongoing analysis of trailer and truck bed inventory to assure correct order levels and communicate flow to staff. This full-time role requires Monday through Saturday hours, regular local and occasional overnight travel, and the ability to operate power equipment like forklifts and tractors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Prior sales experience
- Valid Driver's License
- Supervisory experience
- Must be able to read written instructions, parts lists, technical manuals, and diagrams
- Must be able to talk and hear, read, write understand and communicate by telephone and in person using the English language
- Must be able to use hands for typing, 10-key operation, telephone dialing
- Must be able to feel, grasp, or manipulate objects, tools, or controls
- Must have close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Must be able to sit; stand, walk, occasionally required to climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, move over uneven surfaces
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 80 pounds
- Must be able to operate computers, cash register, telephone, and printer/copier/scanner/fax
- Must be able to operate automobiles, tractors, forklifts, and other power equipment
- Must be available Monday through Saturday (except company holidays)
- Must be available for 40 hours per week or more
- Must be able to travel locally by vehicle
- Must be able to travel overnight by vehicle or airplane occasionally
- Must be able to stay overnight occasionally
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree
- 3-5 years supervisory experience in a retail or sales environment
- 3-5 years of sales experience
