Job Summary
Assistant Store Manager at MFA Petroleum’s Big O Tires store oversees day-to-day store operations, customer service, and staff supervision while coordinating with the Store Manager on achieving budgeted sales, gross profit, and expense goals. Responsibilities include opening/closing the location, managing shop operations, explaining benefits of services and products, performing vehicle inspections and maintaining/ servicing vehicles, guiding staff through customer concerns, assisting in training and program execution, reviewing financials (P&L, balance sheets, payroll projections), overseeing inventory replenishment, preparing reports, and ensuring adherence to company policies and PPE requirements. Requires 18+ years old, valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a state Motor Vehicle Inspection license within one year, and prior retail or automotive sales/service experience; strong math, computer, communication skills, and the ability to work in outdoor conditions and hazardous materials. High school diploma or GED preferred.
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Ability to obtain the state appropriate Motor Vehicle Inspection license within one year of hire
- Previous experience in retail or automotive sales or service
- Ability to learn new concepts and use technical materials
- Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, averages and percentages
- Ability to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
- Ability and willingness to work with hazardous materials
- Ability to consistently work in outdoor weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license for moving customer vehicles in and out of the shop area
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the English language to communicate accurately and effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
