Job Summary

As a Big Lots Assistant Manager, support Store Manager in overall store operations and customer service, assist with hiring/training/development of store team members, perform opening/closing in manager's absence, protect assets, adhere to policies and safety guidelines, maintain professional environment, supervise hourly Team Members when Store Manager is away, and assist with merchandise receipts, freight flow, stockroom and floor maintenance, productivity, stocking, and execution of directives from the Store Operations Weekly Bulletin.

Required Qualifications

  • Prefer prior retail and management experience
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 50lbs from floor level to above shoulder height; must be able to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in a high energy, team environment
  • Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
