Assistant Store Manager

Job Summary
Assist Store Manager with operations and people leadership: support in hiring, training and developing store team members; help with day-to-day store activities, opening/closing procedures in manager’s absence; protect store assets including cash; ensure safety and policy compliance; maintain professional environment for customers and staff; oversee stockroom and sales floor maintenance to company standards; when Store Manager is away, provide direct supervision to hourly team members; process Corporate directives; assist with receipt and return of DSD merchandise; manage freight flow; meet or exceed productivity standards; assist with ordering, stocking, and maintaining stockroom organization; help ensure the sales floor is sales-effective daily; partake in implementing directives from the Store Operations Weekly Bulletin.
Required Qualifications
- Prefer prior retail and management experience
- Effective communication, interpersonal, and written skills
- Ability to lift, bend and transport merchandise weighing up to 50lbs from floor level to above shoulder height; must be able to meet demands of frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, twisting, pulling, and repetitive lifting, with or without reasonable accommodation
- Ability to work in a high energy, team environment
- Ability to work flexible, full-time schedule to include days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
