Job Summary
Oversee daily store operations across food and general merchandise areas, supervising team performance and managing planograms, seasonal resets, and endcaps. Lead huddles to share financial metrics, customer feedback, and operational updates while ensuring compliance with food safety standards and local regulations. Drive store profitability by developing strategies to improve customer service, increase sales, and optimize merchandising through the 85/15 design method. Recruit, train, and retain talent to meet forecasted staffing needs, fostering an inclusive culture that aligns with Meijer's values. Assist the Store Director in executing new initiatives and maintaining competitive positioning through awareness of market trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5+ years of retail/grocery/operations management/customer service experience
- 4+ years of progressive leadership experience
- A passion to lead those in span of care while providing industry leading service
- Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking and applies it to the business
- A thorough understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising which leads to meeting the needs of our customers/community and gaining sales and market share
- A strong business acumen
- An innovative attitude to help Meijer set the industry standard
