Assistant Store Director

Job Summary
Oversee day-to-day operations of a retail grocery store in partnership with the Store Director; manage store performance, front-end operations, scheduling and labor budgets, hiring and disciplinary actions, staff coaching and development, cash handling and security, inventory and promotions, customer service excellence, compliance with policies and laws, and safety. Responsible for directing front-end personnel, forecasting sales, planning labor, ensuring display accuracy, maintaining in-stock conditions, handling customer and employee concerns, and ensuring a productive, compliant store environment. Requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, analytical and communication skills, and the ability to train and supervise staff in a fast-paced retail setting.
Required Qualifications
- Education Level: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required; College degree preferred
- Experience Level: Four or more years retail or managerial experience required
- Retail grocery experience preferred
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Strong mathematics and analytical skills
- Demonstrated customer service and supervisory skills
- Strong understanding of overall retail store operations
- Strong leadership and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Computer literate
- Ability to make quality decisions under time constraints
- Ability to get along with others
- Travel Requirements: None
- Physical demands: ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods; able to lift up to ~55 lbs; keyboard/desk work; bending and reaching may be required
