Job Summary
Support the Tournament Director in all aspects of event planning and execution for All-Ripken Games, overseeing daily operational oversight of fields, schedules, staffing, and game flow. Serve as a key on-site decision-maker to ensure event timelines, schedules, and standards are consistently met while enforcing tournament rules, roster guidelines, and safety protocols. Supervise Field Coordinators and seasonal staff, providing direction to coaches regarding expectations and player management. Act as a primary communication liaison between Operations, coaches, umpires, vendors, and facility partners, managing event communication platforms and supporting staff briefings. Address player, coach, or parent concerns with professionalism and empathy, ensuring a positive, development-focused experience for all athletes. Assist with score reporting, standings verification, and post-event feedback. Requires availability for multi-day events including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
Required Qualifications
- High School Head Coaching experience
- College coaching experience
- College or professional playing experience
- Strong understanding of baseball/softball rules, tournament formats, and game operations
- Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, live-event environment
- Prior experience as a Tournament Director, Assistant Director, or Field Coordinator
- Experience with showcase, all-star, or large-scale youth sports events
- Background in athlete development, evaluation, or event operations
- Availability for multi-day events, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
