Assistant Softball Coach

Job Summary
Conduct high-quality softball practices, training sessions, and player development programs while supporting the Head Softball Coach in game preparation, opponent scouting, and in-game coaching. Provide position-specific instruction, utilize video analysis and performance tools, and collaborate with Strength & Conditioning, Sports Medicine, and academic staff to ensure holistic student-athlete development. Mentor athletes on leadership, accountability, and resilience while assisting with recruiting, tournament logistics, and equipment management. Maintain open communication with student-athletes and parents regarding athletic progress and campus life. Work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays to support team travel and events.
Required Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of softball fundamentals, coaching techniques, and player development strategies
- Experience playing, coaching, or managing softball at the collegiate, club, amateur, or professional level
- Strong commitment to the development and well-being of student-athletes
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented and high-performance environment
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced athletic setting
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40lbs
- Ability to handle outdoor temperatures for a reasonable period of time
- Must be able to move around campus which includes gym, turf, fields, etc
- Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays
- Valid driver's license with ability to travel for tournaments, games, showcases, and recruiting events
- Requires a background check upon offer
- Requires a drug test upon offer
- This position requires a Florida Level 2 Background Screening
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related sports/business field preferred, or equivalent experience
- Experience developing elite or nationally ranked softball players or teams
- Knowledge of softball analytics, video breakdown, and performance technology platforms
- Experience with recruiting and college placement processes
- Bilingual preferred
- CPR Certification preferred
- Experience working camps, clinics, and player development programs
