Job Summary

Plan, organize, and conduct regular practice sessions while developing game strategies and teaching fundamental skills to student-athletes. Supervise athletes during practices, games, and school-sponsored trips, promoting discipline and good sportsmanship. Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations, assist with equipment maintenance and facility scheduling, and maintain open communication with parents and guardians. Provide mentorship on personal development and college opportunities while enforcing all school policies. Work evenings, weekends, and during school breaks as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Prior coaching experience
  • Valid Florida teaching certificate or valid Department of Education athletic coaching certificate
  • Valid FHSAA certification
  • Valid Adult and Child First Aid/CPR/AED certificate issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications
  • Valid Florida Driver's License
  • Knowledge of the sport's rules, techniques, and safety practices
  • Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
  • Ability to collaborate with school staff, parents, and community partners
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and during school breaks as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Coaching experience in the assigned or a closely related sport
  • Experience mentoring youth and fostering a positive team culture
  • Familiarity with academic eligibility requirements for student-athletes
