Assistant Site Superintendent - Mid Rise

Job Summary
Maintain and execute the project plan and schedule while ensuring compliance with budget and quality standards. Supervise and coordinate all construction activities for new Retirement Residences and Seniors' townhouses in Whitby and Aurora. Direct, coach, and train Coordinators, Foremen, and hourly staff to ensure workmanship meets design requirements. Assist in obtaining information from engineers, designers, inspectors, and municipal authorities. Resolve potential problems, work interferences, or schedule difficulties for senior management. Requires a post-secondary degree and five years of progressive commercial or mid/high-rise construction experience. Knowledge of OH&S legislation and Microsoft Office tools is essential.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years' progressive commercial and/or Mid/High-Rise construction experience
- In-depth knowledge of the construction industry operations specifically construction specifications, building materials, methods and procedures
- Ability to lead and assess trade performance on the job
- Experience applying basic engineering principles to construction challenges
- Ability to schedule, monitor and forecast resources for optimum efficiency
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (excel, word, outlook, Project, etc.)
- Knowledge of OH&S legislation, policies and procedures
