Job Summary
Ensure safety of program volunteers during site activities and community outreach, including transporting volunteers to program locations and job opportunities. Train volunteers to perform functional tasks, interact appropriately with peers and the community, and reinforce agency philosophies. Oversee overall site functioning in the absence of the Site Manager, including supervising DSPs and scheduling program activities. Maintain accurate written records, communicate with parents, advocates, and the MSC regarding volunteer progress, and act as a liaison between staff and volunteers. Report volunteer success, satisfaction, or concerns to the Site Manager and ensure protection from neglect or abuse by reporting incidents timely. Complete mandated trainings and certifications as determined by program needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Good oral and written communication skills
- A valid NYS Driver's license and needs to be and remain a Qualified driver
- Minimum 6 months experience working with people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities
Desired Qualifications
- AMAP/First Aid/CPR/SCIP-R Training
- 1 year experience working with people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities
