Job Summary
Act as the second point of contact for parents and administrators while overseeing student safety and well-being during after-school activities. Establish and enforce rules to promote positive behavior, coordinate indoor and outdoor enrichment clubs, and lead activities like homework help, arts and crafts, and educational projects. Develop lesson plans, track attendance, and ensure grant compliance by facilitating sign-up procedures. Address challenging behavior constructively and involve supervisors or parents when necessary. Attend trainings to stay updated on childcare best practices and safety standards. This role supports youth across Southern California through before and after-school programs, offering opportunities to build leadership skills and make a meaningful community impact.
Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities
- College transcripts that show you have 48+ college credit units completed OR you take and pass an academic proficiency exam
- TB test (and provide proof that it is negative)
- Live Scan background check
- Reliably commute before starting work
