Job Summary
Assistant Site Coordinator supports both direct student engagement and administrative tasks. Responsibilities include assisting the Site Coordinator, overseeing student safety during after-school activities, enforcing positive behavior, coordinating indoor/outdoor enrichment activities, developing lesson plans, tracking attendance, and ensuring grant compliance. The role involves liaison with school staff and parents, organizing clubs (e.g., career readiness, cooking, anime, dance), facilitating homework help and educational projects, and participating in trainings on childcare, safety, and program management. Requires 2+ years in after-school programs or youth recreation, strong communication with children and parents, and 48+ college credits or an equivalent proficiency exam. TB test, Live Scan, and potential Covid-19 vaccination documentation are required where applicable. English-Spanish bilingual candidates are advantaged. This is a part-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Site Coordinator, with a Mon-Fri schedule including early morning and afternoon shifts in San Diego, CA. Required Qualifications
- At least 2 years of experience working in after-school programs or youth recreation, especially in ethnically and culturally diverse communities
- Good communication with kids and parents
- College transcripts showing 48+ college credit units completed OR ability to pass an academic proficiency exam
- TB test with negative result and Live Scan background check
- English-Spanish bilingual is a plus
- Covid-19 vaccination documentation if required by the school site
