Job Summary
Assistant Site Administrator for Early Head Start at AWARE oversees the daily operations of the Early Head Start site in Billings, MT. Responsibilities include planning, organizing, and coordinating site activities; providing leadership and collaboration for curriculum implementation; planning and delivering educational information and staff development for education and nutrition staff, families, and children; and enabling a supportive, inclusive environment with a focus on quality care and service delivery. The position requires knowledge of early childhood education, experience with low-income populations, ability to relate positively to children, families and staff, data-collection proficiency, strong administrative capabilities, and willingness to travel with some overnights. Annual compensation is $50,000, and benefits are described in the employment package.
Required Qualifications
- AA degree in Early Childhood Education
- At least two years of employment experience working with families and children aged 0–5 in an educational setting
- Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, philosophy and mission (desirable)
- Ability to travel long distance to Montana service areas, some overnights required
- Valid Montana driver’s license and liability insurance
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead, supervise and partner with a team of professionals
- Data collection and information processes and systems experience
- Computer literacy (database management, spreadsheets, word processing, internet, email)
- Ability to establish long-range goals and program evaluation
