Job Summary
Assistant Manager at VIP in Portland, ME, serving as second-in-command to the Service Manager to lead the team, ensure safety compliance, and deliver exceptional customer experience. Responsibilities include maintaining workplace safety, engaging customers about vehicle conditions and VIP processes, driving VIP SAX scores, executing managerial activities, training and developing associates, coordinating dispatch and work orders to technicians, and maintaining facility and service department standards. Requires strong leadership, communication, and automotive servicing knowledge; standard 5-day, 40-hour workweek; duties include compliance with ethics and regulations, and acting as policy administrator when the Service Manager is off-site.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
