Job Summary
Assistant Service Manager at VIP (Shelburne, VT) serves as second in command to the Service Manager, leading the team in the manager’s absence to deliver a differentiated customer experience and ensure safety, policy compliance, and VIP program execution. Responsibilities include overseeing safety training and compliance, coordinating customer service discussions and vehicle condition communications, driving VIP SAX scores through engagement, guiding managerial activities, developing a high-performing team, ensuring training and certification requirements are met, managing daily service desk operations, dispatching work orders to technicians efficiently, and maintaining a clean, compliant service facility. Requires strong leadership, communication, and automotive service knowledge; two years of automotive service management experience and ASE certifications are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Strong people management and leadership skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Sound business sense with analytical ability
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Comprehensive understanding of automotive servicing and the industry
