Job Summary
Assistant Service Manager at VIP in Rockland, ME serves as the second-in-command to the Service Manager, leading the team to deliver a differentiated customer experience and uphold VIP programs and standards. The role focuses on safety as a priority, coaching and coordinating with technicians and staff, managing service desk activities, driving effective communication, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and executing essential managerial duties including training, dispatch, and store operations to achieve high-performance results. The position requires strong leadership, communication, automotive servicing knowledge, and the ability to train and develop staff, with a standard 5-day, 40-hour work week.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
