Job Summary
Assistant Manager at VIP Automotive in Bangor, ME supports the Service Manager by leading the team in their absence, ensuring safe operations, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and executing VIP programs and standards. Responsibilities include enforcing safety policies, educating customers about vehicle conditions via MPI inspections, driving VIP SAX performance, coordinating with the Service Manager to develop and mentor staff, ensuring LMS and vendor trainings, coordinating dispatch of work orders to technicians, and maintaining facility and equipment readiness. The role requires strong leadership, communication, automotive servicing knowledge, and compliance with codes and procedures, with a standard 5-day, 40-hour workweek and a focus on safety, customer service, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
