Job Summary
Assistant Service Manager at VIP Auto (Norway, ME) serves as the second in command to the Service Manager, leading the team in their absence and ensuring safe operations, exceptional customer experience, and adherence to VIP programs and standards. Responsibilities include enforcing safety policies, educating customers about vehicle conditions based on MPI inspections, achieving strong customer engagement via VIP SAX scores, leading team development and training, coordinating with the Service Manager on managerial activities, ensuring compliance with service ethics and regulations, maintaining facility and equipment, and supervising daily operations, communications, and dispatching of work orders to technicians. The role requires strong leadership and communication skills, automotive servicing knowledge, LMS and vendor training completion, and ASE certifications, with a standard 40-hour work week and hourly pay.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
