Job Summary
The Assistant Service Manager at Hillwood Properties is responsible for organizing maintenance programs at multifamily properties, ensuring safe job performance and high standards of resident satisfaction. Key responsibilities include performing hands-on maintenance across various systems including HVAC and plumbing, adhering to safety regulations, diagnosing repairs, responding to service requests, and maintaining the maintenance shop. Required skills include strong teamwork, communication abilities, attention to detail, and a minimum of 2 years of relevant maintenance experience. Candidates must possess a high school diploma and HVAC Certification.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on, on-site maintenance experience in a multifamily residential or commercial property setting
- Demonstrated experience with general maintenance tasks including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repair
- Working knowledge of city codes, building safety standards, and relevant local, state, and federal regulations
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while prioritizing multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Reliable transportation to and from work and on-call assignments
- Must maintain a reliable mode of communication and respond within a reasonable amount of time in case of an emergency
Desired Qualifications
- HVAC Certification
- Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification
- Electrical certification
- Basic computer literacy with ability to use work order systems, email, and inventory tracking tools
- Experience working with property management software
- Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
