Job Summary
The Assistant Manager acts as the second-in-command at the Framingham service location, leading the team in the Service Manager's absence, ensuring safety, policy compliance, and a superior customer experience while delivering VIP program execution. Responsibilities include enforcing safety, educating customers on vehicle conditions via MPI results, mentoring staff to achieve HVAC/ASE and LMS training milestones, coordinating daily operations and communications, managing work orders and dispatching to technicians, and maintaining facility and service standards. The role requires strong leadership, automotive service knowledge, ASE certifications (C1, P2 recommended; G1 encouraged), a valid driver's license, and the ability to supervise a team within a 40-hour workweek. The position emphasizes management activities, team development, and adherence to service codes, with duties spanning from safety and process execution to facility maintenance and customer interaction.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- Sign up associates and provide study material for applicable ASE certifications
- LMS training compliance
- Ability to supervise and lead a team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures
- Experience with dispatching and work-order management
- Knowledge of VIP processes and customer engagement
