Job Summary
Assistant Service Manager at VIP in Brunswick, ME leads the team in the Service Manager’s absence, ensures safety and policy compliance, and delivers a different and better customer experience by applying VIP processes. Responsible for coordinating with the Service Manager to develop a superior team, overseeing LMS and vendor trainings, ensuring ASE certifications are pursued, managing communications and daily stand-ups, supervising the service desk and dispatching work orders to technicians, and maintaining facility and equipment standards. Requires strong leadership, exceptional verbal and written communication, knowledge of automotive servicing, and applicable ASE certifications or licenses; standard 40-hour workweek with a 5-day schedule. Essential duties include enforcing safety as priority, educating customers on vehicle conditions via MPI inspections, achieving high SAX scores, coordinating with management, and maintaining compliance with codes and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
