Job Summary
Assistant Manager at VIP Automotive in Biddeford, ME serves as second-in-command to the Service Manager, leading the team in delivering VIP customer experiences, ensuring safety and compliance, and supporting management activities such as training, communications, and process execution to achieve high SAX scores and VIP standards. Responsibilities include enforcing safety policies, engaging customers about vehicle conditions, coordinating with the Service Manager to develop a superior team, managing daily operations and service desk, ensuring facility and equipment readiness, enforcing the service Code of Ethics, and serving as policy administrator when the Service Manager is not on site. Requires strong leadership, excellent verbal/written communication, automotive servicing knowledge, organizational skills, and ASE certifications as listed; typical schedule is a 5-day, 40-hour work week; minimum education typically a two-year college or technical program with related automotive-management experience.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
