Job Summary
Assistant Manager at VIP Automotive in Bath, ME supports the Service Manager by leading the team in their absence, ensuring safety, delivering a differentiated customer experience, and executing VIP programs and standards. Responsibilities include promoting workplace safety, educating customers on vehicle conditions via MPI inspections, driving customer engagement and SAX score, overseeing management activities and training, coordinating dispatch of work orders to technicians, maintaining facility and equipment, ensuring compliance with service ethics and regulations, and serving as policy administrator when the Service Manager is not on site. Requires automotive service management experience, ASE certifications (C1 required; P2 and G1 recommended), a valid driver’s license, and typically a two-year college or technical school background.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1– Service Consultant required
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
