Job Summary
The role is the Assistant Service Manager in Bangor, ME, serving as second-in-command to the Service Manager. Responsibilities include leading the team in safety, customer engagement, and delivering VIP programs and standards; ensuring adherence to policies, training requirements, and compliance with regulations; overseeing daily service operations, coordinating communication, managing workloads and work order dispatching to technicians, and maintaining a clean, compliant service environment. The position emphasizes developing a superior team through LMS training and vendor coordination, promoting a high-quality customer experience, and acting as policy administrator when the Service Manager is not on site. Required qualifications include automotive service management experience (minimum 2 years), education support (two-year college/technical school recommended), valid driver’s license, and ASE certifications (C1 primary; P2 and G1 are recommended), plus applicable state inspection licensing. The standard work week is five days, ~40 hours, with emphasis on leadership, safety, and customer service excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Two years related experience in automotive service management
- Completion of two-year college or technical school program recommended
- Current, valid driver’s license issued in state of residence
- Equipment Safety Certification
- ASE Certification C1 – Service Consultant
- ASE Certification P2 – Parts Specialist recommended
- ASE Certification G1 – Maintenance and light repair recommended
- State Inspection License Required (where applicable)
