Job Summary
Administer the driver hiring and compliance process, including background checks, drug testing, and DOT physicals. Provide direction to location trainers, teach safety classes, and schedule re-certification sessions. Investigate incidents, accidents, and work-related injuries by determining fault and preventing preventability, then conduct post-accident counseling and retraining. Prepare compliance forms, maintain files, and submit data to the claims office. Plan monthly safety meetings, participate in Safety Action Team meetings, and conduct driver road checks for pre- and post-trip inspections. Analyze safety trends, develop cost-saving recommendations, and respond to driver appeals. Requires five years of operations experience, knowledge of federal and state safety regulations, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Smart technology. Salary is $55,000 per year.
Required Qualifications
- 5 Years Operations experience (includes all roles within operations starting with the driver role)
- Knowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding safety and environmental issues
- Proficient computer literacy essential with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Literacy in technology used to manage the operation to include but not limited to FGA approved Smart technology, Apps, encrypted drives, shared drives and other Smart technology
- Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with employees of all levels including drivers, customers senior management, client representatives, union officials and general public
- Subject to drug and alcohol testing, including cannabis
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in a Safety role is preferred
- Experience with other software such as timekeeping and payroll systems is preferred
