Job Summary
Lead, mentor, and support student-athletes with integrity while recruiting prospective rowers from high schools and the on-campus community. Instruct rowing fundamentals to foster development of novice rowers into varsity contributors and collaborate with the Head Coach to deliver safe, successful team experiences. Assist with administrative tasks, logistical operations, rowing equipment maintenance, and boathouse upkeep. Participate in spring travel and weekend events as required. This part-time role supports the Women's Rowing program at Seattle Pacific University, a Christian university committed to academic excellence and service, with practices held on protected waters of the Seattle Ship Canal and Lake Union.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with a competitive collegiate rowing program (as athlete or coach)
- Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
- Initiative and commitment to athlete development and recruitment
- Enthusiasm for collaborative team culture and student mentorship
- Interest in learning and growing as a collegiate coach
- CPR Certification
- Washington State Boater's License
- Washington State Driver's License
- USRowing Level 2 Certification
- Personal commitment to Christian faith
- Alignment with the University's Statement of Faith
- Willingness to accept the lifestyle standards of the Christian community
- Part-time employment status
- Approx. 19 hours per week availability
- Mornings availability preferred
Desired Qualifications
