Job Summary
Coach interscholastic athletic programs by motivating students, maintaining school spirit, and instilling sportsmanship while supervising safety during practices, events, and trips. Prepare and implement annual plans for conduct, communicate progress to administration, parents, and students, and enforce student code-of-conduct provisions. Maintain records, safeguard district property, and collaborate harmoniously with other coaches and staff. Hold valid coaching authorization and a Board-approved contract.
Required Qualifications
- To possess and utilize a sound base of knowledge of the sport(s) to which the coach is assigned.
- To hold valid coaching authorization issued by the Iowa Department of Education.
- To hold a valid coaching contract approved by the Board of Education.
- To provide, in instances of assignment as a non-teaching coach, a certificate of physical examination.
