Job Summary

Provide continuous, meaningful active treatment and supervision for residents in the Ermo IRA, ensuring they receive training in daily living skills, safety, and self-advocacy. Act as a positive role model and first line of contact for staff, managing callouts, coordinating team-building activities, and maintaining appropriate staffing ratios. Assist with screening, mentoring, and evaluating residential staff while documenting services, incident reports, and benefit usage. Maintain accurate records for medication administration, billing, and material inventories, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and agency policies. Schedule staff to meet program needs and avoid overtime, adhering to all mandatory training and ethical standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum one-year experience working with developmentally disabled individuals
  • Minimum one-year supervisory experience
  • Current SCIP certification
  • Current First Aid certification
  • Current CPR certification
  • Current AMAP certification
  • Ability to achieve and maintain additional certifications as required by program needs
  • High school diploma or GED
  • College coursework related to human services or vocational training such as PCA, HHA, or CNA
  • Reliable transportation
  • Current NYS driver's license
  • Driver's license free of moving violations (amendable to Class E)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, squat, turn in the knees, pivot, and grasp with both hands
  • Ability to lift individuals by using appropriate techniques including tools such as the Hoyer Lift
  • Ability to assist individuals in ambulation by providing physical assistance including the use of a gait belt or other equipment
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to push, pull, and maneuver adults in wheelchairs
  • Verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to obtain certifications in ostomy care, G-tube management, insulin administration, and medication administration as required by program needs
