Job Summary
Assistant Teacher/Counselor (Residential Counselor) in a residential program serving adults with ID/DD. Responsibilities include direct care tasks (showering, toileting, meal-time assistance), health-care support, programming toward ISP goals across areas such as functional academics, domestic skills, health and personal hygiene, social and leisure skills, communication, and community mobility. Provide education, counseling, and physical assistance; develop, write, and present annual ISPs and semi-annual assessments; provide transportation to individuals; maintain confidential files and participate in team/meetings. Requires experience with ID/DD and a HS diploma/GED; valid driver’s license; background check requirements; MAP certification preferred. Full-time role based in Norwood, MA with a comprehensive benefits package.
Required Qualifications
- Highschool Diploma/GED
- Experience working with Individuals with ID/DD
- Must be able to pass Fingerprint background check, CORI, DPPC and Driving background checks
- Valid Driver's License required
- MAP certification is preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
